I’m Max McDonough. My debut poetry collection, Python with a Dog Inside It, won the St. Lawrence Book Award from Black Lawrence Press and was published in 2025. My poetry and prose has appeared in The New York Times, POETRY, AGNI, Ecotone, T Magazine, Northwest Review, Best New Poets, and The Adroit Journal, among others. I hold an MFA from Vanderbilt University, a BA from the University of Virginia, and I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
